Ingredients:
- Water as needed
- 1 cup rice
- 1/4 cup urad dal
- 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
- Salt to taste
- Oil or ghee for cooking
Instructions:
- Rinse the rice and urad dal separately and soak them in water for 4-6 hours.
- Grind the urad dal with fenugreek seeds in a wet grinder or mixer to make a smooth batter. Transfer to a large bowl.
- Grind the rice to a smooth batter and add it to the same bowl as the urad dal batter. Mix well.
- Add salt to taste and mix again.
- Cover the bowl and let the batter ferment for 8-10 hours or overnight.
- Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Grease with oil or ghee.
- Pour a ladleful of batter into the pan and spread it evenly in a circular motion.
- Drizzle some oil or ghee around the edges and cook until golden brown.
- Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
- Serve hot with chutney and sambar.
